Amoxicillin Trihydrate
Twin 1 is still sick. She made an appointment with her Dr. but can't get in until March 29/16. Wiw talked her into going sooner as last year she had a bout of pneumonia so she made an appointment at the Family Focus walk in Clinic for 6pm last night. They were only 20 min behind schedule which was nothing as her own Dr is usually 2 hours behind schedule.
Its been confirmed that she has a Bronchial Infection which may have turned if she left it too long. So thank you Wiw. Last year she had some chalky liquid meds as she couldn't swallow the horse pills they gave her at first so this year she requested the liquid which she chases with White Grape Juice which is delicious!
She was prescribed Amoxicillin Trihydrate which is used for Bronchitis, Pneumonia etc.
She was all prepared to buy the Grape Juice but when she went to give the prescription to the pharmacist they asked her if she wanted Chewables instead. Chewables?! They make chewables? Yes of course for kids that can't swallow the big pills. She couldn't pick her flavor as they only have them in a fruity flavor so no Juice was required.
After waiting 1/2 hour for the prescription to be filled she went and picked it up. "Are these for you?" Yes for me and not for kids. She went home and had some supper and took her first does of the pills. They are actually really tasty. She has to take them every 8 hours for 10 days. so 8pm, 4am, 12pm, 8pm etc.
This morning she was thinking it does not look like there are 60 pills in that bottle so she had to pour them out and double check. There were 60. She felt like a drug addict counting out her supply.
After her pills she ate a chocolate bar that she bought from a fundraiser at work and then that evening proceeded to cough so much she threw it up. $2 down the drain and no bars left and she wanted to take the whole bottle if it meant no more coughing but refrained.
At this point she is still contagious so NO KISSING!

Wha'd Up?
Just a quick little update.
Saturday night Sister Wi and Bro-in-law had a few people over to celebrate Bro-in-law's birthday. You can tell we are getting old as the party conversation consisted of anxiety, politics, unions and vasectomies. It was a good time. For realzies.
On Sunday both of our husband's got sick with the flu/cold.
Us on the other hand felt fine. We were scheduled for a 7k run and Twin 1 needed to take the dogs out. We decided to take them to Ashburn so the dogs could run and play while we were running. It was a little difficult as the course was hilly and we ended up running about 7.5k (with walking breaks of course up the hills) but it was so different and nice running on the grass. Just like running on clouds.
THEN Twin 1 got sick.

Wha'd Up?
So as mentioned before Valentine's Day was on Sunday. We don't tend to celebrate much. It's too mushy a day for us. Twin 1 made supper for her hubby, mother-in-law and friend. Twin 2 and her hubby ordered a pizza from Boston Pizza. A heart shaped one. That's as mushy as it gets.
Awwwww |
We've been doing excellent so far with our workouts. We are into week three of February and haven't missed one yet. We have done all our runs on the treadmill (except Twin 1 did one outside last weekend). Yesterday morning Twin 2 had a day off so we had planned to meet at Twin 1's at 5 am to get our run done outside but we were starting to get some messy weather so we ended up doing the treadmill once again. It feels so good to get the workout done in the morning.
This is what Twin 1 stares at while on the treadmill. She is training herself mentally for another run as well as physically LOL. See those speakers? They were bought at the $$$ store a while back to listen to some music while on the treadmill but the treadmill is way too loud. Her "Travel Cash" is her motivation in case we ever get south this year. She has often tried to use the Ipod with her ear buds but the cord of the ear buds get in the way and she ends up throwing them on the floor so it's come down to staring at the wall.
So Gilly has a new way of sitting. We think he's human.
Here he is having a beer. Him and Dad were hanging out one night. |
And here he is just chilling waiting for Mom to get out of the bathroom. |

Wha'd Up?
Well it's been a few weeks since a wha'd up post. Still not a whole lot to entertain you with but here are a few tidbits.
1. Superbowl 50 was this past Sunday. I'm sure you know by now that the Denver Broncos won. We don't think anyone really expected it but we are so glad they did. Maybe now Peyton will retire?! Once again we scrapped our military diet on Sunday night to enjoy some grub and it was worth it. P.S. the halftime show sucked!
2. We had a blizzard on Monday night. Twin 1's work was not cancelled/delayed yesterday so she went to work. Twin 2's work was delayed until 10 but she decided to take a vacation day. We've had a pretty good winter so far. All storms (the majority) have happened on the weekends so work hasn't really been affected. And unlike last year after every snow fall we've had some pretty mild temps and good weather that has allowed the roads to clear and the snow to melt in preparation for the next storm. Let's hope that's the case as winter continues.
3. While we have no trip booked south yet we have put in our vacation. The plan is to leave the weekend of April 24th and return the weekend of May 1st. We've been looking at a few resorts in Mexico but we may give the DR a try (resorts are slightly cheaper there). We'll wait a little while longer. Hoping the Zika virus will bring down the prices lol.
4. So now that we have a date that we are heading south we are into the working out/healthy eating serious phase. As of today if we leave April 24th we have 74 days. Eeeeekk that's not a long time once you think about it. We are amping up the Jillian Michael's 90 Body Revolution and also back into running 3 days a week (Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday). We picked the Hal Higdon's 10k program and are 'training' for a 10k. We use the term 'training' lightly as we aren't actually racing a 10k but we are pretending we are to make sure we get our runs in. It all comes down to mind games.

Tip Tuesday
One thing we have learned that helps us with eating healthier is to plan our meals for the week ahead of time. Usually every Sunday an hour or so is spent prepping meals for the work week. This makes it so much easier in the evenings when you get home from work and are busy and then too tired to think about what to take for breakfast/lunch the next day as it's already done for you. All you have to do is wake up the next morning, grab your container(s) and hit the road. This also helps, we find, with cutting back on eating out as well. It's a lot easier to say no to co-workers when they invite you out to lunch knowing you already have your lunch made for that day and an added bonus is it saves on money.
