ADVENT CALENDAR DAY!!!!!!
Our most favourite time of year! Last year we went all out with the Starbucks advent calendars but this year we decided against it as we much prefer the cheap $1 calendar chocolate. It's more about the countdown to Santa anyway :)
Speaking of Christmas, does everyone have their Christmas decorations up yet? Neither one of us are putting up a tree this year as we are heading home to the parents this year. However, we have still decorated inside a bit with lights trying to make it festive. Twin 1 has her outside lights up but Twin 2 has yet to. Hopefully by this weekend.
One tradition that we changed slightly this year was the Parade of Lights. The Halifax ones were on Saturday, November 19 but our day was so busy that we didn't think we'd be able to make it so we hit up the parade in Bedford on Sunday, the 20th. This worked out well as we have a friend who lives just a 5 minute walk away from the parade route so we were able to park at his place and walk down and avoid the crowds (but sometimes that's the fun of it). It also started at 5:45 pm and was approximately 30 minutes long and no traffic to or from. Now mind you it's not the big production the one in Halifax is but guess who was still there: SANTA!
And that's all that mattered :)
We also stumbled upon a table on the sidewalk giving away free Tim Horton's hot chocolate and timbits! Halifax needs to step up their game!
This may be our new parade tradition.
