The Oven Handle

Twin 1 asked her husband if he would fix the oven door handle as one side was very loose.  We assumed it would be easy but we had to look up on You Tube to see how it was done.

Apparently you have to take the door off the oven and all apart.

 And still 40 min later.....

But it is now fixed.

It would have been an opportunity to clean the oven but she did not.

Randomness

First off, sorry we haven't been that consistent with our blog lately.  We have some things we are trying to work on and we'll see where that takes us.  Hopefully we'll have something to report soon.  Our goal is, at least, by March 1.

In the meantime, some random pics for you.  As you read this post you will see that we also need to work on uploading the pictures the right way...not sure what's happening or how to rotate once posted.

1. Twin 2 purchased a spiralizer and we have been having some fun with that.  So far we have just spiralized sweet potato and zucchini and made turkey spaghetti out of the noodles.  Very tasty.

Not sure why this is sideways.  Sorry.

 2.  Twin 2 got a food processor for Christmas.  One of our recipes called for coconut butter.  We searched the city high and low for it everywhere, with no luck.  We decided to make it ourselves.  Pretty simple recipe:  pour coconut flakes in food process and process until buttery.  DONE.

We'll work on rotating pics somehow on the blog.

3.  Twin 2 had a Superbowl get together during the game and her and Billy were dressed the same.

4.  Twin 2 and her husband always argue whether they have a gas light in their vehicle.  Her husband will drive the vehicle until it's empty however, Twin 2 always fills up when the gage reaches 1/4 full.  Usually she fills up the tank on one of her run nights (not to say hubby can't do it any day of the week as he drives the vehicle to work).  One week we didn't run for whatever reason so she didn't put gas in the car.  Hubby didn't notice the gas gage.  Driving home from work he looked down at the dash and it was confirmed, we did have a gas light.  He had no idea how long the light was on so luckily when he noticed we were about 10 feet from a gas station so we filled er up.  At least we know.

YAY picture right side up!

Twin 1's Superbowl Bets

There are some New England fans in Twin 1's office and every year she is making bets on the Superbowl.  Here are this years bets with 3 gents.

Gent 1  – NE wins he gets 6 chocolate dip donuts,  PH wins I get 4 chocolate bars

Gent 2 – NE wins he gets 12 pb cups ,  PH wins I get his wife's macaroon cookies (so good!!!)

Gent 3 – yesterday it was $5 but today he comes over and days “so I hear you sometimes do bets with PB cups”.  I asked him if he would like to change the bet.  He said well then I would have to make you some if I lost and I can’t bake.  I said how about then if NE wins you get 12 pb cups and if PH wins then I get $5.

The bets are all shook on.

I told them I won’t be here Monday as I’ll be home making PB cups.

They said if NE loses they will all be taking personal days on Monday and wont be here either.

CND Vinylux Review

CND Vinylux is a polish we learned about at our hair salon.  The bottle said it will last 7 days.  Every time we put on polish it starts to chip off in a few days so Sister Wi bought the Denim colour polish and the top coat that goes with it (because apparently the top coat was what made it last for 7 days).  Twin 1 decided to try it and followed the directions closely to see if this actually stays on for 7 days.

The first step was to apply 2 coats of the colour you want (Denim blue).  It went on very thick and smooth.  She waited to make sure it was dry before putting on the 2nd coat.  Then when that was good and dry she finished it off with the Top coat.  Again, very nice, smooth and thick when applied.  It was a very pretty color and next was to wait 7 days to see the final outcome.

7 days later

As you can see there was some chipping on some fingers.  So, it did not "last" for 7 days.  Although it didn't last like we had anticipated, it did last longer then a normal polish without a top coat but I think any nail polish and regular top coat lasts just as long.

Very pretty colors but for $10 a bottle not sure we'd pay the money for that particular brand of polish.
