Friend Requests

Twin 1 goes to bed rather early some nights and this sometimes means she wakes up in the middle of the night and decides to see what is going on in Facebookland.  She apparently is half asleep while doing so as she wakes up in the morning seeing people have accepted her friend requests....who are these people?  People from Europe....

but it wasn't the Queen, that request is still awaiting acceptance.

Wha'd up?

Anyone else ever throw out your shampoo bottle and forget to put in the new bottle and don't realize until you are showering and the only options are :

1 - get out and run to the hall closet to get it
2 - use your husbands

Twin 1 chose the latter. No one has commented on if she smells like Old Spice, not to her face anyway :-)

Motivational Monday

We did it!  We signed up for the Great Cycle Challenge to Help the Kids fight Cancer.  There is no motivation like putting it out there on Facebook saying we will bike 300k (150 each) for the month of June.  150k is from Moncton to Halifax....that sounds like a lot now but we know we can do it!

Please sponsor us and donate to help the kids fight cancer.  Our team is called "The Twins"

Mile A Day In May

It's that time of year again for Mile A Day In May.

We forgot all about it until CF mentioned it and asked if we wanted to do it again.  The regular crew is back which includes the Twins, CF and JN.  We pay $1 for every day we don't walk/run a mile.  Perfect score so far for all of us.  JN (male) has gotten in the habit of growing his hair.  We are trying to get him to cut it and hoping if he won (or lost) the challenge he would cut it lol but to no avail.  He's now at the length where he can wear a man bun (YUCKY!!!) and a youngin' told him he was killing it so yeah, he's not cutting it.  Also to add to the mile a day CF is doing the 30x30 Challenge where you spend at least 30 minutes a day in nature for 30 days.  This kinda goes hand in hand with the mile a day if you can get your mile in outdoors.  CF is doing great so far.  The Twins had a day or two on the treadmill.

Before this happened Twin 2 and her husband each bought Fitbits to try and challenge each other on who could get the most steps and to honestly get Twin 2 moving more (as per the prescription from her Dr.).  The goal is to reach 10,000 steps a day and this mile a day is helping a lot (along with the nice weather we have been having).  Twin 1 now has a Fitbit too.  She has Twin 2's defective one and Twin 2 was sent a new one from the company.  Great customer service!   It's only defective in that you have to charge it every day as opposed to every 7 days lol. First world problems right here! lol

Anyway we'll see how the rest of the month goes :)

Wha'd up?

Is it Wednesday? We're not sure.

We are back from Mexico.  Walked in our doors at 6-615am Monday morning and both back to work now.  We are still getting into the swing of things again and still in vacation mode mind so we will be back on track with the blog in the next few days.

Wha'd Up?

4 DAYS UNTIL MEXICO!!!

We are now continuously checking the weather.  Looks like a chance of showers/thunderstorms everyday but we're hoping that is just in the evening/early morning before we get up which has been the case in the past.

The past two weeks/weekends have been pretty much spent working and getting ready/packing for Mexico.

Our first priority was food for the plane.  Bars, Chips and Girl Guide cookies :)

We can never pass up a sale on chocolate bars.

Next was going through clothes and figuring out if we needed anything.  We went shopping last Saturday and while we were in the mall we got hungry but just felt like something quick and cold.  We originally thought Orange Julius but couldn't find it in the mall so stumbled across another juice/smoothie place. We ordered a PB and Choc smoothie and a Banana Bliss.  The descriptions sounded delish but when we tasted it, it wasn't what we were hoping for.  I guess the 'unsweetened' chocolate almond milk should have given it away.

So disappointed.

On Monday Twin 2 got her final tooth extracted that was needed.  She decided to do this before she went to Mexico because if it bothered her down there the last thing she would want to do is go find a Mexican dentist.  This is also her go to weight loss plan before any of her trips (she dropped a few lbs before Vegas and didn't gain an ounce while there).  Just kidding.  She wouldn't recommend it to anyone.  Her dentist appointment was at noon on Monday and by 8 pm Monday night a part of her face was still frozen.  She went to bed thinking she had paralysis in her face as the dentist may have hit a nerve and a freezing had never lasted that long before.  But when she work up on Tuesday her face was back to normal.

Now we wait for the days to slowly pass by.

Prognosis

So as you are well aware Twin 2 went to the doctor back in March.  Here is here story.

The first doctor appointment was just a meet the doctor type of meeting and some blood tests were ordered as I had gained some weight and was hoping it wasn’t just my doing but maybe I had a ‘condition’ and I would get pills and it would be all better.  Now, I don’t mean to make light of people with a thyroid (or any other) condition but I just don’t know how I let myself get to the poundage of where I am today so there had to be a good reason other than myself.

Step one was blood work and a urine test.  I had to fast for 8 hours before the blood work/urine test.  Not a problem.  I went around 8:30 on a Saturday morning and was done giving blood by 9:00 a.m.  After the vials were taken I was then given a Styrofoam cup and two vials for me to go pee.

One is my pee cup and the other was my drinking cup.

I asked if I had to fill the two vials and the answer was no I only had to make sure I had some pee in both.  Into the bathroom I went.  I sat there for 10 minutes and guess what.  I. COULD. NOT. PEE!!!!  This NEVER happens.  I was in there for 10 minutes and thought I better get out so the rest of the people who needed to give a urine test could do so and I wouldn’t be holding them up.  When I came out of the bathroom with my cup and empty vials in hand the nurse asked me if a glass of water would help.  Sure.  So I drank that quickly then got another one.  And I wondered the halls as I was not leaving until I gave my sample.  I started stressing as to why I couldn’t pee as I usually can at the drop of a hat.  1.5 HOURS later I was able to get enough out of me to do the trick.  I have NEVER had this problem before.  I’m not sure if it was the stress knowing that I had to.  Maybe I had some sort of performance anxiety? I think so.

So after the whole fiasco of the blood work/urine test I had a follow up appointment last Thursday for the results.  What was the prognosis?  Drum roll please….I got fat on my own.  The doctor told me to exercise at least 5 times a week for at least 30 minutes.  She even wrote me a prescription.  She said to treat it like medication which I will do.  So far so good.

Wha'd up?

Easter is a few weeks away now but we all had a great time in NH.  We also celebrated our mom's and grandmothers birthday because we missed it on March 21.

Here is the cake our Wiw made ...minus the toothpicks as those were to keep the saran wrap off it.

Bill and Twin 1 took the dogs up Wayne's road and hiked in the woods that were all cut down.

NH really wore Pearl out. This is her when we got home.

This past weekend we hiked a new trail in Hammond Plains.  Its called Sandy Lake.  Its open to dogs from Oct - June for them to run around.  In the summer people swim and picnic here.  Dogs are allowed at that time but they are required to be leashed.   Here are some photos of the hike and some of the big trees in that woods.

Only 17 days to Mexico!!!
