So as you are well aware Twin 2 went to the doctor back in March. Here is here story.
The first doctor appointment was just a meet the doctor type of meeting and some blood tests were ordered as
I had gained some weight and was hoping it wasn’t just my doing but maybe I had
a ‘condition’ and I would get pills and it would be all better. Now, I don’t mean to make light of people with
a thyroid (or any other) condition but I just don’t know how I let myself get to
the poundage of where I am today so there had to be a good reason other than myself.
Step one was blood work and
a urine test. I had to fast for 8 hours
before the blood work/urine test. Not a
problem. I went around 8:30 on a
Saturday morning and was done giving blood by 9:00 a.m. After the vials were taken I was then given a
Styrofoam cup and two vials for me to go pee.
One is my pee cup and the other was my drinking cup. |
I asked if I had to fill the two
vials and the answer was no I only had to make sure I had some pee in both. Into the bathroom I went. I sat there for 10 minutes and guess what. I. COULD. NOT. PEE!!!! This NEVER happens. I was in there for 10 minutes and thought I
better get out so the rest of the people who needed to give a urine test could
do so and I wouldn’t be holding them up.
When I came out of the bathroom with my cup and empty vials in hand the
nurse asked me if a glass of water would help.
Sure. So I drank that quickly
then got another one. And I wondered the
halls as I was not leaving until I gave my sample. I started stressing as to why I couldn’t pee
as I usually can at the drop of a hat.
1.5 HOURS later I was able to get enough out of me to do the trick. I have NEVER had this problem before. I’m not sure if it was the stress knowing
that I had to. Maybe I had some sort of performance anxiety? I think so.
So after the whole fiasco of
the blood work/urine test I had a follow up appointment last Thursday for the
results. What was the prognosis? Drum roll please….I got fat on my own. The doctor told me to exercise at least 5
times a week for at least 30 minutes.
She even wrote me a prescription.
She said to treat it like medication which I will do. So far so good.
