Wha'd up?

We got our hair cut this past Saturday.

We also started running with the Timberlea group again.  They run Monday, Wednesday at 6pm and Saturday at 9am.  We go to the evening ones are we are usually busy on Saturday's.  The pups have come with us to and do a great job of dragging us along.  Anyone can come so feel free.

That is all.

Workout Wednesday

We have completed the 12 week On the Regimen program that we had started back in February.  It's a 12 week program that is centered around weight lifting/strength training which we love.  Twin 1 had found the program and instead of doing our Jillian Micheals videos we decided to give it a try.  It is actually our first program we successfully completed so that says something in and of itself right there!

We basically downloaded the program which gave us some info and laid out all the exercises and how many reps to do on what day, right from Week 1, Day 1 to Week 12, Day 5.  It was a 5 day a week strength program alternating between arms and legs (plus abs/core) every day.  The best part of this was we got to spend some quality twin time with each other (even more so than we did before lol).  We alternated between our two houses depending on what equipment we needed.  The equipment mostly just consisted of some body weight, cable, dumb bells and a few exercises used a barbell but there were alternate exercises suggested if you didn't have said equipment available.  Twin 1 luckily obtained a free weight bench and weights from a friend.

We took measurements and pictures of ourselves after every 4 weeks to track our progress.  While the overall result wasn't what we were hoping we both feel better after this program and would be one to be repeated.  If we had of added some cardio into the mix the results may have been slightly different but it is what it is and we are okay with that.

If your interested in where we got this program it was from www.ontheregimen.com where you can purchase the programs.

What season is it?

Here are some pictures from this past weekend walks.  Looks more like fall to us.

No Bake Engergy Bites

Twin 2 has been making these on a regular basis.  We were both getting packaged ones at the Superstore which ran about $8 for a bag so we thought these would be a cheaper way to go.  And fresher.  The only problem is they are so tasty and it's hard to stop at one or two.

Recipe:

1 cup oats
2/3 cup toasted coconut flakes
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup ground flax
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)

Stir ingredients together.
Cover and let chill in fridge for 30 minutes.
Roll in to balls.
Store in airtight container in fridge for up to 1 week.

Wha'd up Thursday cause we missed yesterday

We missed Wha’d up Wednesday as the days flew by with the long weekend and short week but I’m sure you’re ok with us posting it today.

Here is what’s been going on:

Thursday evening when the long weekend started Twin 1 and her sis and BIL took the pups to Long Lake for a little hike.  We took some trails we’ve never taken but we never got lost.  Win for us!

Saturday morning we saw a family of crows at Point Pleasant just  hanging out

Sunday Twin 1 made a ham supper for the ones who had no where to go for Easter Dinner.  Twin 2 and her hubby went to his parents but stopped in for some dessert on the way home.

Monday morning we were lucky to have it off as well as we know some businesses are open.  Twin 1 and Bil went to Kearny lake and saw this in the woods.  Didn’t get lost here either J

That afternoon Twin 1 went out with her sis and BIL and had no intention of buying anything but when there was a deal at Cleaves then why not take part.  She bought these new hiking shoes.

Also if you see this around anywhere BURN IT!!! its tick eggs.

And just because we think this is funny:

Motivational Monday

We hope everyone is enjoying their Easter Monday holiday (those who are fortunate to get it).  We spent the majority of the day watching the Boston Marathon.  It didn't quite motivate us to get out for a run but we plan to start back up soon.

Happy Easter Long Weekend

We hope you all have a great Long Easter Weekend with your family and friends.

This year will be a different Easter for us as we will not be seeing our parents, unless someone unexpectedly makes a quick trip down home.  Do not fear we still have chocolate.

Wha'd up?

There has been a few happenings since we last blogged on Wha’d up
Twin 2 went down to Cape Breton for her work.  She got a “standard” room at the Cambridge Inn & Suites and this is what we call a “standard” room….we have high Standards.

While she was down there she went to visit her old stomping ground and her friend gave her some of these!

Last week our Babba went into the hospital and had emergrency surgry on her bowel.  This is papa waiting and our wiww sister wi and R went down to wait with him as she is the good daughter.

She got her tubes out on Sunday evening and felt free.

She is now home and has a nurse coming in to clean and change her bandages as she got 26 staples and will take a little while to heal.
While in Antigonish we decided to check out the Peace by Chocolate that the refugees came over and started it.  While there was great hype about it honestly to us Chocolate tastes like chocolate.

On Thursday last Twin 1 offered to take care of Pearls younger sister (who just turned 1 in Feb).  She is quite the handful.  Hubby’s father came over on Sunday to watch the Masters and she was scared of him and hid behind twin 2 the whole time.

We all enjoyed a nice walk at Long Lake on Sunday morning lots of sniffing.

We now understand why our mom locked us out of the house on nice days if we were anything like these 3.  Why be inside when you should be outside enjoying nature.

What'd UP?

Hey how is everyone doing?

We haven't been to active on the blog lately as nothing much has been happening.

We weighed and measures last week for our start of week 9 check in on our weight lifting program and we both lost some from last time but it was basically the same as when we started.  We are a little confused by this but we are thinking it might be from gaining muscle and then maybe we are leaning back out?  I guess we will know in 4 more weeks :-)  Also the next few weeks Twin 2 will be in Sydney for work so these few weeks we have to do our workouts separated.  She will have to use the hotel gym or YMCA and I don't know about you but I get self conscious when I go into a gym even though I don't know anyone and no one knows me.

Twin 1 is starting to dog sit tomorrow night one of Pearls younger sister while her Mommy goes south.  We hope the week goes well but I'm sure the first few days will be mayham.

Not too much else to report that I can think of at the moment.  Maybe more as the week unfolds.
