Wha'd Up?

This past weekend was the Labour Day long weekend.  Twin 2 had some company from PE Island and Twin 1 went down home for the weekend  We'll recap Twin 2's weekend.

Thursday
Both Twin 1 and Twin 2 took the day off as the weather forecast was calling for 30 degree temps and sunny all around.  Twin 1 went over to Twin 2’s and we laid out just for a few hours.  We didn’t want to overdue it being our first time in the sun/heat.  It certainly didn’t look like Mexico but it felt like it.  Thursday evening Twin 2 and her husband went golfing for their first round this summer.  They didn’t realize how bad the bugs were but luckily the person they were paired with gave them a bit of bug spray so they could make it through the night.  Bug spray will be bought for the next round.

Friday
Friday evening Twin 2 had her BFF from college and her two kids come over from PE Island.  They arrived around 7:30 pm so there was a lot of catching up to do as it has been around 8 months since they last seen each other.

Saturday
Twin 2 and Flo took the kids down to Oaklawn Farm Zoo.  We arrived around 12:30 pm and stayed for a few hours.  It was a beautiful day but the wind sure was chilly.  On the way down to the zoo we took Highway 101 and had no problem finding it.  On the way back however, our GPS took us through the back roads of NS and ended up in Chester and onto the 103.  That was quite the adventure.  Once we finally made our way back home we took a trip to Costco and then back home for supper and a fire.  Initially there was a fire ban on for the weekend but on Saturday it was lifted so we could burn between 7 pm and 8 am, which was great because it filled up our evening and entertained the kids.

Sunday
Sunday morning Flo and the kids took off back home and Twin 2 had a little peace and quiet.  Later on in the day Twin 2 and Sista Wi went out for groceries and Twin 2 did some meal prep for herself and Twin 1 (Twin 1 was down home in NH so Twin 2 did the groceries and meals for the week for them both).

Monday
Monday was a lazy day and even though it was nice out Twin 2 sat and watched Life in Pieces all day on Netflix and cooked a roast.

All in all, a great weekend.  The weather is finally starting to turn around and spring/summer is in the air!

Workout Wednesday

We have completed the 12 week On the Regimen program that we had started back in February.  It's a 12 week program that is centered around weight lifting/strength training which we love.  Twin 1 had found the program and instead of doing our Jillian Micheals videos we decided to give it a try.  It is actually our first program we successfully completed so that says something in and of itself right there!

We basically downloaded the program which gave us some info and laid out all the exercises and how many reps to do on what day, right from Week 1, Day 1 to Week 12, Day 5.  It was a 5 day a week strength program alternating between arms and legs (plus abs/core) every day.  The best part of this was we got to spend some quality twin time with each other (even more so than we did before lol).  We alternated between our two houses depending on what equipment we needed.  The equipment mostly just consisted of some body weight, cable, dumb bells and a few exercises used a barbell but there were alternate exercises suggested if you didn't have said equipment available.  Twin 1 luckily obtained a free weight bench and weights from a friend.

We took measurements and pictures of ourselves after every 4 weeks to track our progress.  While the overall result wasn't what we were hoping we both feel better after this program and would be one to be repeated.  If we had of added some cardio into the mix the results may have been slightly different but it is what it is and we are okay with that.

If your interested in where we got this program it was from www.ontheregimen.com where you can purchase the programs.

What season is it?

Here are some pictures from this past weekend walks.  Looks more like fall to us.
