The Luddington Invitational
This past weekend was our
annual family golf tournament. The
Luddington Invitational! We have been
playing every year since 2005 (if we remember correctly). The winner of the previous year gets to pick
the golf course we play at the following year.
Sometimes we travel and spend a weekend away together and sometimes we
just take day trips to a course. Last
year Twin 1’s husband won the tourney and he’s a member at Ashburn so we
decided to play there.
We booked tee times for 3 pm
this past Saturday. All day leading up
to our tee times was kind of overcast and misty at times, not the best weather but
not hot. UNTIL we pulled out of our
driveway on the way to the course and the clouds decided to part and all’s we
had was blue sky and sun and it got HOT!!
Most of us weren’t dressed for the temps once we got to the course but
we struggled through.
There were 7 of us playing so
we teed off in a group of 3 and a group of 4.
We decided to get carts as well because it was hot and the course is so
hilly. You are either going up a hill or
down a hill. It didn’t ever feel like you
leveled out at all anywhere on the course. It was difficult.
Twin 1’s husband is quite the
amateur golfer and has represented Nova Scotia in Nationals a few times. He always has a handicap when he plays in our tournaments so it gives the rest of
us a slight change to win. This year he had to beat us by 18 stroke to win. It’s getting closer as the first year he had
to beat us by 24 strokes.
Either he’s getting worse or we’re getting better LOL. This year Dad ended up with only 15 strokes
behind his score so that made Dad was the winner!
AND Twin 2 gave up the last place trophy (she has only given it up twice
in the past 12 years) to Twin 1! Golfing
at Brunello must be helping a little bit anyway. But both of us still have a lot of work to do
if we want to join the Nova Scotia Golf Association and compete in tournaments.
After the tournament, we had
the trophy presentations and the green jacket presentation and had some yummy
food!
Now we wait for next year.

Wha'd up?
September is upon us and that means Fall and PSL’s! We have not had a full one yet but Twin 2 got
a sample of one as the Starbucks down town was passing out samples on Sept 1.
Twin 2 also went away this past weekend to our cousins wedding
and Twin 1 stayed behind.
It was a great long weekend for sure. Now we have a long weekend every month until
the end of the year which makes us very happy.
This is a picture of Long lake at 8am on Sunday
morning. Twin 2 took the dogs out for a
walk and there was not a sole there other then the guy that lives in the woods
which she never runs into and doesn’t really know where abouts he puts his camp
now but his Beemer (BMW) is always in the lot.
No wonder he can afford a BMW is he doesn’t have to pay rent 😉
Saturday Twin 1 and sister Wi went out to spend her HSC gift
card she received for her bday back in July.
She remembers why she doesn’t’ go to the mall anymore….everything is
SOOOOOOOOO expensive and not her style anymore LOL but she managed to find two
pair of pants and a blazer. Of course
everything is too long so Sister Wi is hired to come over on Sunday and hem
them all for her. $5 a pant
Also Twin 1 had a huge problem with paying FULL PRICE for
anything but she saw these shoes at Winners and has been looking for pointy
flats for a while and so she got these.
Technically they weren’t full price as the tag said “original price $110
but Winners sold them for $69.99 she still feels like throwing up every time
she thinks about what she paid for them.
Also Sunday evening the Twins were allowed to join a Fantasy
Football Draft with the boys which was quite exciting. They were going to be a team together but
last minute someone else wanted to join the team so Twin 1 was asked to see if
she wanted to put her own in to make the Teams an even number. Sure. she was quite excited until she sat
down to do it and THIS HAPPENED!!!! Lucky for her it “autodrafts” but she
wanted to pick all her own. She got
about 2 of the 15 picks in and was quite upset but what can you do. That is why she never uses her home computer
and even the phone app for it sucked.
Anyway we will see how the Twins do in the pool and will let you all
know.
Twin 2 and her hubby are off to Cincy for their 10 year anniversary tomorrow Here's to hoping they don't get delayed by any rain or hurricane.
Football starts TOMORROW NIGHT!!

2017 Bucket List - Update
Every year we like to look at our goals/bucket list for the year at about the 6 month mark to see how we are doing. We are a little behind in the time line and also in completing the list. We actually completely forgot what was on our list :)
1. Bike to Chester
2. Wear leggings/dress
3. Buy a foam roller - we didn't buy one but a friend won one and never used it so she gave it to us. Twin 1 has it as Twin 2 bought the roller ball massager. She has plans for a review but has yet to post.
4. Finish JM 90 Day Body Revolution by mid February - so close but no cigar however, we did complete a three month strength training program in the spring, so it is possible.
5. Bike/walk the Salt Marsh trail
6. Run another 10k
7. Check out the Designer Outlet in Bayers Lake
8. Run in shorts/sports bra (probably not at same time) in summer
9. Finish reading Hillary Clinton's book "Hard Choices. The book was an impulse buy 2 years ago and it's voluminous.
10.Bike to work (Twin 1)
11. Do 1 unassisted pull up (Twin 1)
12. Bike 2017 km in 2017
We have some work to do this fall/winter.

Wha'd Up?
Last week Sista Wi was on vacay so Twin 2 checked in on the budgies a few times. We have no problem saying 'yes' as there is always some goodies at her house that we go looking for :)
Just a picture of Lou relaxing in the evening. He looks pretty content.
Spent Saturday afternoon untangling this beauty. The picture does not do the tangle justice.

Wha'd Up?
Well here we are. Twin 1 is still on vacation and it's been a beautiful two weeks for here. We definitely can't complaint about the weather this summer. Hopefully it will continue into September. Today we'll just post some pics of the past few weeks.
1. This book was referred to Twin 2 by another lover of boy bands. It's a very easy read and was found in the 'teen' section at Chapters. (lol) If anyone wants to borrow it, let us know!
2. Twin 2 and CF were walking on the boardwalk at lunch one day and these were being given away for free AND we each got two packs! We thought that was pretty generous. Our review? If they are being given away two at a time for free take ONE and form your own opinion. If you are thinking about buying them, DO NOT. They are ok while they are being eaten but the aftertaste is GROSS.
3. THESE on the other hand, if they are being given away for free take them all!!! If you were a CAA member, on August 2 you could go into Marble Stone Creamy and get a free cookie sandwich. Delish!!
4. Friday was Twin 2's 10 wedding anniversary. She received a card from Mom and Dad? But we're still not sure who our daddy is.
5. Twin 2's cats are just like kids. Can't have anything nice. Introducing the faceless giraffe.

Tip Tuesday
Find the best fitness friend
A
workout buddy is hugely helpful for keeping motivated, but it's
important to find someone who will inspire—not discourage. So make a
list of all your exercise-loving friends, then see who fits this
criteria, says Andrew Kastor, an ASICS running coach: Can your pal meet
to exercise on a regular basis? Is she supportive (not disparaging) of
your goals? And last, will your bud be able to keep up with you or even
push your limits in key workouts? If you've got someone that fits all
three, make that phone call.
